Up and running

Just been to my old mobile phone shop to top up on internet juice....... So I’m up and running at last. It’s good to be back. I arrived last week and spent the first few days grinning and cycling around, getting used to the noise, the traffic, the people, the heat, the rain, the thunder, the smiles etc etc.

At the mo I’m staying with a friend (Sheila) before moving in with another friend (Alta) just up the road. Hopefully later this week. Just been for a cycle to find the street and I like it. It seems more Cambodian somehow. Wooden houses and people milling around and chatting. Looking forward to settling in and getting to know some of them. Or at least trying out bits of Khmer (the Cambodian language) and gradually being understood (and vice versa).

Later today I’m meeting a friend for coffee at a new cafe. They spring up all the time here and there’s a few appeared since I’ve been away. So no doubt I’ll be trying them out over the next wee while.

Anyway, tis good to be back and for most things to feel normal and familiar. Very different from last time which was full of unknowns. Glad to touch ground with a level of firmness underfoot. And to have made my first splosh in waterfall blog-land.
