Space

Now then, an exciting thing occurred a few weeks ago.... I acquired a Space.

Those of you who've heard me talking about the idea of Creative Spaces will know that this is a very good thing. Very good indeed.

Which is why I've not blogged about it til now. Just wanted to make sure it's for real before making it known.

Tis a rather lovely Space below a cafe and about the size of a small garage. In fact I think it probably would be a garage if the cafe was a house and not a cafe.

A peek of the Space (stairs up to Cafe Eden on the left just outside the pic)

Anyway, the last time I was here it was used as a craft workshop. My friend, Sreyrom (she of the "Spaghetti" post) used to work there and I'd often drop by to say hello. So I know it well. But since she got married in May and the two ladies working with her retired, it's been empty.

Which is something that struck me during a visit to the cafe for a coffee and catch-up with Norman who oversees the place.....

A wonderfully empty space that would be just great as a Creative Space. Somewhere open and welcoming where people could drop in to paint, draw, read, pray, be, chat, drink coffee... A small sanctuary in the midst of a busy city.

So I asked Norman about it during one of our rambling conversations. And after going off on various tangents, we finally got back to the point and he seemed quite struck by the idea too.

So, to cut a very quick story to the size of a sentence, Norman asked Khim (the manager) who agreed to me being there and a couple of days later, I was there.

To be continued.......
