Friday

Woooooooooooooo! Have definitely had that Friday feeling today. Looking forward to venturing out of Phnom Penh tomorrow to Svey Rieng (a town near the Vietnamese border) in search of a toilet. Honest. Will tell more tomorrow. Til then, here's today's offering.......

Been having some good times in the Space. Really encouraged by the regulars who've been coming along and the unexpected visitors too. Here's some....

Julie from New Zealand who dropped in to do some work and just hang out in the Space.

Mom and Nita preparing a silk painting.

Gill and Sarah from the UK who popped in whilst travelling round South East Asia.

Really good to meet Gill last week who's the sister of a friend from Hull (John Best). She grew up there so it was especially good to have the Hull footprint in the Space :-)

It's been interesting observing people's reactions/responses to the Space. On the whole Cambodians have no problem bobbing in and seeing what's happening. And people who know me, the same. Westerners visiting the Cafe who I don't know that well or not at all are loads more hesitant and rarely come in.

Apparently clear instructions are what's needed. Which I'm deliberately not doing at this stage. Just want to see how it goes and then tweak things according to what works and what doesn't. Probably by Christmas when it's been going a couple of months.

For now, I'm just enjoying experimenting. And learning more about creativity, culture and what makes a good khmer lunch:

Back tomorrow with news of my wee adventure... xx
