Progress

It's been another slow day but help is on its way. The family whose guesthouse I'm staying in can take me to the toilet tomorrow. Apparently they have relatives in a village nearby so are happy to visit them in the morning with a loo stop on the way. Am relieved from the depths of my bowels. It's felt a very constipated effort til now.

Not much else to report from Svay Rieng. It's been a lazy day so I'll change the subject entirely and let you know the latest progress re: the boys in prison. Have received an email so here's where things are at at the mo:

Dear friends,

Thank you for praying for the 6 boys and their families. I just wanted to give you a small update on the situation. Things haven't changed yet; the boys are still imprisoned and the families are still heart broken and distressed. However, 4 out of the 6 families got together and now will be represented by a lawyer, who will be funded by a human rights NGO. He will try to first get the boys out of prison emphasizing that they are minors, and being detained pre-trial and not being able to go to school is violating their rights (apart from the fact that being detained for something they haven't done is completely violating them). The families are visiting the boys as often as they can, though this is a financial burden for them as well with money required at every level of the visit.

The names of the boys are: David who turned 17 the week he was put in prison, Sambol who’s 17, Panit who’s 16, Vun who turned 15 last week, Bontuen who’s 17 and Sarn who’s 17.

Please continue to pray:
-that the boys will be kept from harm, as prisons in Cambodia are notorious for their ill conditions and violence.
-that the families wouldn't lose hope.
-for unity for the 6 families and a good representation by the lawyer.
