Tomb

Just been cycling round the city, stopping off by the Riverside to see how the King-Father's tomb's coming along. His funeral's on the 1st Feb so preparations are in full swing now.

I took this picture from a hotel rooftop bar last month so I thought I'd go back and take some more to show how the work's coming along. The bar was shut, however, so here's a couple from the bathroom window of the hotel cafe just below:

I was told that the police don't like photos being taken so was trying to be discreet. When I got downstairs, however, and stood just outside the site, the workers said it was OK to snap away. So here's one of them and an unskewed view of proceedings:

Apparently the King-Father's coffin goes in the middle and is burned. Not the whole lot as I'd thought. Seemed a shame given the amount of work/money/craftsmanship going into it. So a relief to find out today that's not the case.
