Bits

It's been a random year so far with varying dynamics. Have been in the Space when I can but other things have been taking up time such as leadership review meetings, planning for a conference at the end of this month and welcoming two gap students who arrived last week. Have a friend arriving tomorrow for a few days - a welcome relief in the midst of it all! - and then friends and colleagues from the UK, Singapore and Indonesia start arriving next week for the conference. So, am just going with it. And will get back in the Space-flow next month.

Other news..... heard yesterday the latest about the six boys in prison. Each of their families have paid the court $1000 to stop them being locked up for 2 and a half years. Which has either cleared them out financially or bumped up their already hefty debts. And now they've heard, surprise, surprise, it's not enough and the court is asking/demanding $500 more from each of them. And all because the boys were in the wrong place at the wrong time and saw a crime that none ot them committed. It's crap.

Another thing, changing the subject entirely, there seems to be an accumulation of monks by the Riverside these days. Was there Saturday and saw loads. Guess it's to do with the imminent King-Father's funeral. So I'll leave you with these. Evidence of a very easy evening of monk-spotting....
