Preparations

Just about to pack to go away to a conference in a place called Kampot for the next few days. Been tearing about this week sorting out transport and accommodation for the folks coming and now most are here, ready for the off tomorrow, I can begin to relax.

In the meantime, whilst we're away, Phnom Penh will be buzzing. With people if not noise. All loud music, celebrations etc are banned until Monday. Because from Friday, it's the three day funeral of the King-Father.

The military have been practising........

The monkhood have been gathering....

The cremation pagoda has been polished.......

And soon Phnom Penh will look like this.....

.......only much, much busier.

And I'll be missing it all. Which is a shame. Tis such an historic event, would have quite liked to have been among the crowd, soaking it all in. But hey, there's a telly where I'm going so I'll see some of it. And a pretty good view the rest of the time...

If there's wifi there I'll keep blogging. If not, will resume proceedings on Monday.
