Snowdrops
Yesterday I got some post!!! Some Christmas cards and pressies!! Belly dancing bells, tea bags (unused!), glittery stars and a calender with pics from Hull and East Yorkshire. Twas a very happy unwrapping.
Of the three cards that came, two were on the exact same theme - snowdrops. A similar thing happened last year when I received cards at various times. They were nearly all of butterflies. Which, for most of 2012, was a particularly resonant theme.
So, snowdrops......... Signs of Spring. New Beginnings. Hope. Beauty. Resilience. And apparently (yep, have been googling......) "a snowdrop is symbolic of consolation; maybe just gazing at the flower soothes the hearts wounds".
So that's all good. Will look upon them (now on my wall) when in need of a lift and/or some consolation. And tis good to know too that if more oomph is needed, belly dancing bells are close at hand and scenes of the other Promised Land (ie not Cambodia) on the opposite wall.
Thanks Liz and Vicky!!! Am drinking tea and raising a mug in deep appreciations :-)
