Courage

Last night/this morning a friend and I saw 2013 in singing Auld Lang Syne karioke-style and as we raised a glass, the urge to be braver this year suddenly welled up within me. Slightly took me by surprise as I've been erring to the more mellow side of life of late.

Possibly seeing The Life of Pi (not The Hobbit after all - my friend had already seen it!!) may have stirred it up, what with all its 3D stormy sea-ness and the shock of a tiger leaping from the screen (never seen a 3D film before....and yep, I screamed).

But what I felt in that moment wasn't a raging urge to Be Strong and Brave. It was more of a gleeful thing. To live with a light heart, think more courageously and just be ready to do brave things when the opportunities arise.

So am calmly looking forward to 2013, albeit with a slight giggle in my belly.
