Les Missed

Well, that was a hoot. Just been to see Les Miserables and the screen went blank in the middle of Fontine's epic number. Then again in her dying scene. Then again in the Master of the House's house. Then again in Jarvert and Jean Valjean's sing-off. And finally a vision of blackness descended across the students' protest scene and that was that. End of.

"Not tonight, Marius"

Free cokes were offered. Mobile phone numbers were taken with the promise of a free ticket being texted. And money was reimbursed. So they did their best.

The plan now is to hire a room in a bar on the Riverside which has a big screen and have our own singalong. So will look forward to that.

Had to feel sorry for the harrassed ushers rushing around in a blur of "Somtoh!"s (sorry) and spilling the cokes. And some Filipinos I spoke to after who'd cancelled work and flown down from Siem Reap especially to see it.

So no revolution tonight. Home instead with tea and a chicken leg and an unexpected early night in.
