Warehouse
Just want to show off on a friend's behalf......
Had a lunchtime meeting at the Daughters cafe today which has only been running since the summer. Last time I went, the space at the back - an old warehouse - was in the middle of refurbishments. Today I had a peek and it's been transformed into the Sugar and Spice garden. And looks fab.
My friend, Emma, did most of the work. She used to design undies for M&S in London. Now her skills have been stretched to a whole new capacity. And she's done good.
I like warehouses and what you can do with them so am inspired by her work. I'll have to go again as this photo doesn't really do it justice. The mezzanine floor bit is particularly amazing with kneel-down tables under billowing canopies and comfy sofas with silk birds hovering overhead (just round the corner of this photo).
The work Daughters do, beyond the cafe, is a beautiful thing too: "changing lives for victims of trafficking in Cambodia" - see http://daughtersofcambodia.org/.
Big Respect to all involved.
