Ding dong merrilies

Saw Santa in a cinema lobby Weds eve and sang carols by candlelight last night. So the ding dong merrilies are fast coming upon me.

This is my 4th!!! Christmas in Cambodia. And it still feels odd.

Obviously, as Buddhists, most Cambodians don't celebrate Christmas so it's not a huge thing here. Still, when Christmas does make its mark it's usually highly tinsled and jolly. So every now and then a festive moment will shout from a shop window or glitter loudly from a billboard. And jar the senses, just a bit.

Looking forward to next week when the ArtSpace becomes a stable. With almost-proper straw (massive blades of grass usually used for roofing) and just a few colours to contemplate.
