Thinking about all things largess tonight having been the recipient of two happy acts of generosity this week. The first came in a parcel all the way from Yorkshire...
.....and contained all these lovely things....
......from a friend I used to knock about with years ago.....
Sharon (in pink) and me with friends larking about at Greenbelt 2001
Last summer I caught up with Sharon in Scarborough, where she's lived for the past 7 years or so doing various things like youth work, supply teaching, swimming in the North Sea, being a Traidcraft rep, getting married, running a baking club and writing reams in seaside cafes. To our shock/chagrin/regret we realised we'd been out of touch for almost as long so it was quite a catch-up and it's been great to have stayed in touch since.
The other generous thing this week has been a visit from some of the World Horizons team (and friends-of) in America who showered us all with pressies at our meeting this morning and then took us out for lunch and a pre St Patrick's day party:
Both things totally unexpected. And both have left me grinning from ear to ear.
It's a wonderful thing......
....and a good reminder to keep giving into magnanimity on a regular basis....
Thanks for the example, Sharon, Kris, Hope and Aleesa. Am still grinning :-)
