Puppet parade
Here's the main event for this brief reprieve in Siem Reap.......
"....a childrens community arts project providing a creative platform for disadvantaged children to foster and promote expression and self confidence through art....Giant puppets are created by children and include unique educational, cultural or ecological themes such as road safety, endangered species, hygiene, local cultural appreciation and environmental awareness....
Under the guidance of student artists from Phare Ponleu Seplak in Battambang and the project’s Artistic Director, over 500 children participate in fun and creative workshops, which are designed to charge and encourage the imaginations of the children. During the course of the workshops the children’s enthusiasm grows until it bursts onto the streets of Siem Reap on the evening of the annual parade on Saturday February 22nd 2014...."

And then the temples tomorrow or Monday. See how it goes. Decided with my friend, Gaynor (who's visiting from the UK) to have a flop day today. Both suddenly flagged so not going to cycle miles around Angkor Wat as planned. Hugging the thought of books, coffee and an afternoon nap instead. Before the blast of colour, noise and carnival later on...
