Rain
Not much happening today apart from the descent of loads of rain and a loud-speakered remembering-of-the-dead ceremony in the nearby wat:
A hundred days after the death of a loved one, friends and family re-gather to re-pay their respects. The ceremony looks and sounds similar to a funeral (lots of monks sitting cross-legged collectively chanting) but are distinctive by the red and yellow sashes around the marquee, unlike funeral ones which are black and white. The people dress the same though - women in white tops and traditional khmer skirts and men in white shirts and dark trousers.
Seems quite an endurance test for all involved. They can go on for hours. Not surprising then to see this monk nipping out to make a quick call and have a proper sit down.....
