Timewarp
Sitting in Dubai airport, head stuffed with 3 films and belly with 2 meals after a 7 hour flight from Kuala Lumpur. It's gone 11pm here and in Kuala Lumpur it's 2am tomorrow. And in Phnom Penh it's tomorrow too, only an hour nearer today. And in London it's 8pm today, so 3 hours ahead of now.
I think I'm tired cos I'm feeling a bit giggly and stretchy headed. But I had a 10 hour sleep last night in Kuala Lumpur and a slow, dawdly day. So who knows. Will just keep going and drink coffee and either sleep and wide-mouth dribble on the next flight or wait to properly collapse in the safe harbour of the Isle of Wight.
Anyway, earlier today and/or yesterday afternoon I had a great time, mooching about in a small piece of heaven in Kuala Lumpur just round the corner from where I was staying..........
After recent adventures in lands of saris and bling, it felt like home from home. Sparkly sandal shops, wafts of nose-tingly spicyness, booming beats of Bollywood and racks and racks of cheap patterned tops. Joy upon joy upon joy. Managed not to get any when I was away due to lack of time and opportunity and it was my one disappointment. So it was like a charity shop feast, buying a few for not very much and beaming with pleasure on the way to the airport. An unexpected little flourish at the end of a free and flowy few months :-)
